Diesel Truck Repair

Specialized diesel expertise for Ford Power Stroke, GM Duramax, Ram Cummins, and commercial platforms.

Diesel engines are built to work hard, but they demand specialized knowledge when something goes wrong. At Sandi Auto & Truck, diesel repair is our specialty. Our technicians understand the unique systems that set diesel engines apart, from high-pressure common-rail fuel injection to complex turbocharger assemblies and multi-stage aftertreatment systems. Whether you drive a pickup for work or operate a fleet of commercial trucks, we have the expertise and equipment to get you back on the road.

Engine Diagnostics & Repair

We use advanced diagnostic scanning tools (JPRO, Ford IDS/FDRS, and OEM-level software) to pinpoint issues quickly. From check-engine lights and loss of power to hard starts and excessive smoke, we diagnose the root cause. Services include injector replacement, head gasket repair, and complete engine overhauls.

Turbocharger Service & Repair

A failing turbo can rob your diesel of power and fuel efficiency. Symptoms include black smoke, a high-pitched whine, oil in the intercooler, or sluggish acceleration. We inspect, repair, and replace turbochargers across all major diesel platforms. Turbo replacement typically runs $1,500-$3,500+ depending on the platform.

Fuel System Service

Diesel fuel systems operate under extreme pressure and require precise calibration. We service fuel injectors ($300-$600+ per injector), high-pressure fuel pumps (including CP4 pump failures that can contaminate the entire fuel system), fuel rails, and fuel filters. We also handle CP3 conversion work for Duramax trucks.

Exhaust & Emissions Systems

Modern diesel trucks rely on complex aftertreatment systems including DPF, DOC, DEF/SCR, and EGR components. We diagnose and repair exhaust leaks, EGR valve failures, EGR cooler issues, DEF injector and pump problems, and sensor faults to keep your truck compliant and running clean.

Cooling System Service

Diesel engines generate tremendous heat, and a compromised cooling system can lead to catastrophic damage. We service radiators, water pumps, thermostats, coolant hoses, and EGR coolers. Coolant should be flushed every 100,000-150,000 miles (or per manufacturer specs) using the correct OAT or ELC coolant.

Electrical & Wiring Diagnosis

From glow plug circuits and alternators to complex body control modules, diesel truck electrical systems are more sophisticated than ever. We trace wiring faults, diagnose sensor failures, and repair electrical issues that other shops struggle with.

Transmission Service

We service Ford TorqShift, Allison 1000, and Ram 68RFE transmissions, including fluid changes, filter replacements, clutch adjustments, and complete rebuilds. Transmission fluid should be changed every 60,000-100,000 miles depending on use. Hard shifts, slipping gears, and warning lights are problems we handle daily.

DEF System Repair

Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) system problems are increasingly common. We diagnose and repair DEF quality sensors, injectors, pumps, heaters, and contamination issues. A faulty DEF system can trigger derate or limp mode. We resolve the issue properly so you avoid the countdown-to-shutdown warnings.

Platforms We Specialize In

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke

CP4 fuel pump failures, turbo issues on early models, EGR cooler leaks, DPF clogging, DEF system faults. We handle them all.

GM 6.6L Duramax (L5P)

DEF system failures, fuel injector problems, CP4 pump contamination, turbo vane sooting. We service LBZ, LMM, LML, and L5P generations.

Ram 6.7L Cummins

Injector failures, turbo actuator problems, EGR valve issues, head gasket concerns on earlier models. Our technicians know the Cummins platform inside and out.

Plus commercial platforms: Volvo D11/D13, Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbilt, International, and Mack.
